On Thursday, April 29th, 2010, at 17.30, U_POLIS reserves for you the following series of events:

1) The tableau “In search of the Image” by the well-known Albanian artist Prof. Edi Hila, analyzed by Dr. Gëzim Qëndro. - at 17.30 POLIS Auditorium
The analysis will concentrate on the relationship between the image and the reality. It will include a short retrospective of the status of the image, focused on Nikea’s 2nd koncil.
Edi Hila is one of Albania’s most popular artists. After the 80’s he proved himself one of the most decent representatives of the Albanian modern and post-modern art. He opened several personal exhibitions and attended all the important European events where the Albanian art was represented. Edi Hila is since many years lecturer at the Fine Arts Academy in Tirana.

2) Promotion of the 4th issue of “Forum A+P”, the architecture and urban planning review. Special edition: Tirana Biennale – The symbolic efficiency of the frame – at 18:30, U_POLIS Hall
In this issue you can read 11 articles in Albanian and 6 in English, all illustrated as well as an article on the famous architect Zaha Hadid.
The publication is result of the joint efforts of U_POLIS staff, Co-PLAN Institute, KVART magazine Belgrade, STEALTH Studio Rotterdam and certainly TICAB Tirana.
 
3) Photo exhibition:The object and the identity loss – at 18:30, U_POLIS hall
Visual Art students (1st year, Architecture) introduce as a photo exhibition the first phase of the assignment “the Object”, which will proceed further with the 2nd phase aiming that through deformation and reformation, the students do not merely hide the object’s function and identity but introduce a completely new object, product of the elements borrowed by the fist object but re-arranged according to visual art elements: composition, rhythm, graphic tension, strength lines, color, etc.
